The Lighthouse staff does everything in our power to be available to our patients. However, power and cell phone outages during Hurricane Irma may keep us from retrieving or returning our messages. If you are unable to reach the office, or you do not receive a call back within 20 minutes, you may call the NCH pediatric emergency department at (239) 552-7827 for assistance from one of the pediatricians there (Drs. Myers, Bartruff, or Patterson.) This only applies to the time from the start of hurricane conditions until cell phone access is returned. The Emergency Department does not give phone advice except in an extreme circumstance such as this.
Please do NOT send health information to social media (Facebook or Instagram) or through our website. We may not be able to see those messages, and we cannot guarantee your privacy on those sites. Thank you for your understanding and we pray for safety for all or our families.

Drs. Dudley and Shepard, Traci, and Diane attended the Fellowship of Christian Athlete (FCA) annual banquet at the Naples Grand Resort. We enjoyed fellowshipping with the coaches and students, as well as hearing an inspirational testimony given by Mark Richt, current head coach of the University of Miami. We are thrilled to be part of a wonderful ministry, where Dr. Dudley also serves on the board.

We are proud to announce the arrival of Kristen's baby, Brantley Kyle Wiggins. She was in our office working right up until the day before she delivered. We are very happy for Kristen and Chris, and sweet sisters Brynlee and Kyndal.

THANK YOU to all of our families who contributed to Operation Christmas Child!! Nearly 100 boxes were packed and returned to our office to be sent to children all over the world. For those of you who did not get a shoebox, there's still (very little) time. Go to http://www.samaritanspurse.org to get details of where you can drop a shoebox between November 14 and 21.

Welcome Traci Viau, ARNP, our newest addition to Lighthouse Pediatrics of Naples! Traci returns home to Naples where she grew up and graduated from Barron Collier High School. She spent 13 years in Gainesville, most recently practicing in the University of Florida Pediatric Neurology Division. She is now available for both well and sick appointments. October is SAFE SLEEP AWARENESS month!! Dr. Shepard led a butterfly release in remembrance of 43 babies who have died of Sudden Unexpected Infant Death Syndrome (SUIDS) at the Garden of Hope and Courage at NCH. Dr. Shepard and the Safe and Health Children's Coalition of Collier County hoped to raise awareness of the role of safe sleep practices in the prevention of SUIDS.
